All feathers and folly, this act reimagines the journey of Ziegfeld’s favorite shining showgirl — glorified, idolized, adored — as she tumbles from Broadway’s blazing lights into the smoky bump-and-grind clubs of New York’s Lower East Side. Ziegfeld celebrated “the American girl,” dressing her in the most exquisite finery, but what of the undressers? Did their beauty fade, or did their desire to reveal what shimmered beneath the plumes earn them the coveted headliner spot at Minsky’s?

Tribute to the Follies was created for Miss Burlesque Australia 2014 and premiered at Brisbane’s iconic Tivoli Theatre as part of the Australian Burlesque Festival in 2013. A vision of classic burlesque at its finest, Alyssa Kitt made her Burlesque Hall of Fame debut with this act at the 2015 Tournament of Tease in Las Vegas.
